Field trips are important ways to enhance a student’s understanding of the created world. Hands-on activities and first-hand experiences help a child to move from the concrete to the abstract and help enrich the classroom experience. Our frequent field trips include visits to museums, historical sights, the theater, and many other cultural, educational and service experiences throughout the Baltimore/Washington area.
Beginning in fourth grade, our students’ field trips include overnight camping experiences and visits outside of the state. Our upper grade students participate in a Leadership Retreat in early September that emphasizes “servant leadership” within and beyond our community. These students spend their days and evenings engaging in team-building exercises, building friendships, and enjoying God’s beauty. Highlights of the 8th grade curriculum include a week spent in Nogales, Mexico, and several days and evenings in New York City.
